Foot Chase Saturday Leads to Wanted Metropolis Man’s Arrest

METROPOLIS – A Metropolis man was arrested Saturday on drug related charges after a Metropolis Police officer driving in the alley between 6th and 3rd streets saw him in the backyard of a home.
According to Metropolis Police, the officer was not aware that 43-year-old Robert L. Little was wanted on warrants issued by Massac County for Possession of Methamphetamine and Theft.
When Little saw the officer, he fled on foot, dropping his backpack. Little was captured near 3rd and Cherry Street.
A search of the backpack found a red bag containing drug paraphernalia as well as a clear baggie containing a substance which tested positive for Methamphetamine and Fentanyl. In addition to the warrants, Little was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine/Fentanyl and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also charged with Resisting/Obstructing Arrest.
Little was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
While clearing from the previous foot chase and arrest, a Metropolis officer saw a black Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck parked behind a home in the 1100 block of E. 3rd St. The officer was aware of an open case involving the theft of a black S-10. A check of the vehicle identification number confirmed that this was in fact the stolen truck.
Forty-four-year-old Christopher A Harris of Metropolis was arrested and charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Harris was lodged in the Massac  County Detention Center.
