MARION – The City of Marion says starting Monday, crews from the water department will be out flushing hydrants.
They will begin in the northeast quadrant, as divided by Main Street and Market Street at Tower Square Plaza, and work their way counter clockwise around town ending in the southeast quadrant. Each section should take about two weeks. After hydrants are flushed, tap water might be stained. If you experience this, run your faucet for a few minutes. If the problem persists over several days, call the water department. Stained water is still safe to drink.
As always, drive with caution and follow any additional instructions given by the crews on the street.
