According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, this happened just after midnight on Oct. 4.

Deputies saw the man on a bicycle going east on Maple Street from an alley way committing multiple violations. The man on the bike was white and was dressed in black with a small bag on his back. The area he was in is known for high drug activity.

Deputies attempted a traffic stop by activating the vehicles emergency lighting system. The bicycle operator, later identified as Michael K. Tucker, failed to stop, and continued to flee for several blocks in a manner consistent with attempting to escape.

Tucker navigated the bicycle maneuvering around the patrol vehicle as it attempted to impede its travel several times. While traveling northbound on 17th Street Tucker lost control of the bicycle while attempting to cut in between parked cars on the west side of the street crashing in the roadway. Tucker attempted to continue to flee on foot but was apprehended by Sheriff Jeff Diederich and two deputies without further incident. Recovered from Tucker was a STAR 9mm pistol and ammunition.

Tucker was cited for Possession of a Weapon by Felon, Resisting a Peace Officer, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer, and Disobeying Stop Sign. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
