METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023.

Metropolis Police responded to a traffic crash on 12th and Vienna. One of the drivers, Delbert L. Warfield, 69, of Metropolis had a suspended driver’s license. Warfield was charged and released on a notice to appear.
Oct. 18, 2023
Metropolis Police and EMS were called to the Speedy Mart on 12th Street. The clerk advised that a female had fallen, struck her head and was acting strangely. Upon arrival, officers learned that she had already left but seemed extremely intoxicated. Officers searched the area and located her laying on the ground on 12th and Metropolis Street. Echie E. Hodge, 53, was very uncooperative and would not answer questions. She appeared to be under the influence of something. Shile trying to provide assistance to her, she became hostile and started fighting with the officers and spit on them numerous times. She was taken to the hospital and fought and spit on staff as well. Upon being discharged, she was arrested for Aggravated Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
