HARRISBURG – The Fowler Bonan Foundation is recognizing the vital role that community support plays in furthering its many charitable works in Southern Illinois, especially the ongoing Heaven’s Kitchen initiative.
Heaven’s Kitchen began five years ago with a simple mission: to provide warm meals for those in need. The initiative’s reach has grown significantly, surpassing the Foundation’s initial expectations, and touching the lives of countless individuals throughout the region. The continuing growth of Heaven’s Kitchen stands as a testament not just to the initiative’s need in the area, but also to the power that comes with community support.
“At the foundation’s core, we believe in a brighter future for our communities. We are blessed with every meal we can serve, and with every hungry child who can be fed,” said Dale Fowler, Chairman of the Fowler Bonan Foundation. “And our ability to further our mission is wholly due to the support we receive from our community members.”
Recently, the Foundation has been alerted to a critical need for food and resources in parts of Southern Illinois, particularly in rural, densely populated regions of Southern Illinois. Numerous local schools have approached the Foundation, seeking additional food to give to their students in need.
While the Heaven’s Kitchen initiative strives to do more to reach out to every school, every community member, and every child in need, this mission cannot be realized without continued support from those in our local communities.
