WEST FRANKFORT – Three West Frankfort residents were arrested after meth and a firearm were found in their vehicle during a traffic stop by a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy around 11:40 Thursday night in West Frankfort.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Hunter D. Karns-Glen was charged with Possession of a Firearm without FOID Card, 25-year-old Montana S. Moore was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 42-year-old Misty D. Shalabi was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
During the traffic stop, a free air sniff around the outside of the vehicle was conducted by sheriff’s office K9 Vader. That free air sniff rendered a positive indication for the presence of narcotics within the vehicle.
During the physical search of the vehicle and occupants, methamphetamine and associated smoking paraphernalia were recovered. One of the occupants was also in possession of a firearm. Karns-Glen, Moore and Shalabi were then arrested, charged and taken to the Franklin County Jail for processing.
The sheriff’s office says additional charges for the involved individuals are pending.
