BROUGHTON – A weekend house fire in Hamilton County is under investigation.
The fire happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on West Main Street in Broughton. The fire had already engulfed the home by the time firefighters arrived. Officials say three children were found in the home after arriving on scene. Crews were able to rescue them. They were not hurt.
The State Fire Marshall was called in to investigate.
The McLeansboro Fire Department, the Hamilton County Ambulance Service, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency, the Norris City Fire Protection District, the Eldorado Fire Department, and the Wayne Fire Protection District #1 all responded to help.
