MARION (WMIX) – A 69-year-old Marion man died at an Indiana hospital Friday morning after he was struck by a dump truck in Marion Thursday morning.
Marion Police say Harold R. Cloud died Friday morning at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Marion officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday and found a man later identified as Cloud lying in the road with severe injuries.
Cloud was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center, and then to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, where he was listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle, 69-year-old Dane Clark, of Marion, was not injured.
According to witnesses, Cloud stepped into the roadway in the path of Clark’s dump truck.
The Illinois State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Officers and Crash Reconstruction Officers are continuing to investigate.
