VIENNA – Six schools in the southernmost part of Illinois are competing to win a $5,000 grant in Arrowleaf’s School Grant Contest.
The participating schools are Buncombe CUSD #43, Hardin County High School, Vienna Grade School, Vienna High School, Meridian CUSD #101, and Anna-Jonesboro High School. The competition involves selling ultimate family destination raffle tickets from March 30 to May 6. The school that sells the most tickets will win the grand prize. The top ticket-selling class or club will also win a pizza party.
The contest aims to support Arrowleaf’s initiative to construct a safe and secure emergency shelter for local individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Participating schools were required to register by March 29 and received a comprehensive packet containing instructions and promotional materials to kick-start their ticket-selling efforts.
According to Jamie L. Kerley, Superintendent/Principal of Buncombe CUSD #43, “The outpouring of support from ours and the surrounding communities for Buncombe Grade School is amazing! I want to encourage everyone to support Arrowleaf and their great work for our region.”
Allison Schuster, Development Officer at Arrowleaf, expressed her enthusiasm for the collective effort towards a common goal of supporting local initiatives. She also urged supporters to visit myarrowleaf.org/shop and place their orders to bolster their chances of winning.
The ticket sale deadline is May 6, and the winner will be announced live on Facebook on May 10.
