JACKSON COUNTY – IDOT says a drainage improvement project will require a weekend closure on Illinois 3 one mile east of the Randolph/Jackson County line, between Levee Road and Jones Ridge Road, starting, weather permitting, at 6 Friday night.
A posted detour will be in place to safely guide motorists around the closure. Digital message boards and informational signs will be installed in advance of the work zone to display real-time traffic information. The work is expected to be completed by 6 a.m. Monday, June 17.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changing conditions and all detour signs prior to the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
