JOHNSTON CITY – A woman was cited for having meth and another woman was cited for a traffic violation following a recent traffic stop on Noah Avenue near 15th Street in Johnston City.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over the vehicle Monica J. Loftis was driving around 12:20 p.m. last Wednesday and cited her for Failure to Signal when Required.
During the traffic stop, a sheriff’s office K9 unit arrived and conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle resulting in a positive alert to the odor of narcotics.
A probable cause search of the vehicle located a white crystal-like substance which later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
The methamphetamine was contained in a black pouch inside of a pink purse which belonged to Loftis’ passenger, Jerri L. Stritzel.
Stritzel was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine, a class 3 Felony.
Stritzel was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
