CARBONDALE – A man is facing gun charges following a traffic stop early Saturday morning in the 1000 block of East Grand Avenue in Carbondale.
Carbondale Police say they stopped the vehicle 26-year-old Levar D. Woods of Carbondale was driving around 2:40 a.m. after learning he had a suspended Illinois driver’s license.
Woods was arrested and found to be in possession of a firearm. He was charged with Driving while License Suspended, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Woods was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
Carbondale Police continue to investigate.
