CARTERVILLE – A recent traffic stop near Carterville led to a man being cited for violating the sex offender registry.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were patrolling the area of Illinois 13 and Shawnee Trail around 10:40 last Tuesday night and saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, identified as Timothy L. Holmes.
During the traffic stop, it was discovered that Holmes was non-compliant with his required sex offender registration.
Holmes was cited for Violation of Sex Offender Registry.
He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
