MARION – The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois’ “Sip and Socialize: A Gathering in the Gardens” event will be held at the Marion Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mandala Gardens on State Street.
At the event there will be free cookie/drink pairings, live music, door prizes and raffles, and food trucks. You must be 18 and over to attend.
Loretta Graham is the CEO of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. Graham says when people think of Girl Scouting, they think of cookies and camping and crafts, but there are three other C’s she wants everyone to know about.
Graham says there will be networking going on at the event and getting people to be more aware of what Girls Scouts do, who they are and what they stand for.
In Williamson County, there are 189 Girl Scouts and 150 volunteer adults.
