CARRIER MILLS – Police in Carrier Mills have recovered a stolen lawn mower.
According to Police Chief Scott Issacs, an officer received information Tuesday about a brand new stolen John Deere zero turn mower worth over $25,000.
After getting that information, the officer saw a vehicle with a trailer and mower entering Carrier Mills and stopped it. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and Harrisburg Police assisted at the traffic stop.
The mower had been entered as stolen earlier in the day by Shawneetown Police. The vehicles, driver, and stolen mower were returned to the Shawneetown police chief for investigation. The driver was a 57-year-old Carrier Mills resident. No name was released.
Chief Issacs says a police report will be sent to the Saline County State’s Attorney’s office with possible charges of Possession of Stolen Property (over $10,000).
The chief says this investigation continues.
