BENTON – Save A Lot, one of the largest discount grocery chains in the U.S., recently announced the latest honorees in its Hometown Heroes program, a nomination-based recognition program showcasing the people and organizations making a difference in the communities Save A Lot serves.
One of this year’s standout winners is Greg Poole, a dedicated community leader on a mission to uplift those in need in Benton, Illinois.
Greg’s Ministry (Can’s Can) delivers meals and visits homebound seniors every Friday, supplies local schools with teacher supplies and snacks, partners with social workers to provide emergency resources for foster children, and organizes special events for assisted living residents. He’s also a familiar face at local festivals and a steadfast supporter of the local food pantry.
Winners were decided after public voting on Save A Lot’s Facebook page. Each winner receives a $500 Save A Lot gift card.
