ELDORADO – Officials at Eldorado High School say a rumor about a student having a weapon at school Monday was false.
The school posted on its Facebook page that the administration, School Resource Officers, Eldorado Police and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident. A search was conducted and no weapon was found on any student searched. There was never a threat made to or by any student, staff or building, and at no point was the safety of students a concern. Officials say as always student safety is top priority and all necessary precautions were taken.
There was an additional police presence at the school Tuesday. Students had to enter the school from either the bus lane door or front doors.
The school is working closely with law enforcement to address any reported threat to school safety.
