Recent School Threats Including One in Carrier Mills Debunked

CARRIER MILLS – The police chief in Carrier Mills says recent school violence threats circulating about violence at Carrier Mills High School have been debunked and are not credible.

According to Police Chief Scott Isaacs, officers from his department, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Harrisburg Police Department, Vienna Police Department, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office wasted valuable resources on a hoax relating to school violence threats from last week.

The chief says it is imperative that juveniles and adults not forward this type of information on social media. They should immediately notify local law enforcement and the school district who will immediately investigate to determine if it is credible.

These posts are very detrimental to the students and school staff and threaten valuable school time according to the chief. He says they will investigate every threat and in no way are suggesting not to notify police, but juveniles sending these messages online are troublesome and will result in arrests in the future.

Carrier Mills Police will have officers present today in the schools to reduce any anxiety.
