Parvin Sentenced to Natural Life in Prison in Sexual Assault Case

BENTON – A Mulkeytown man was sentenced Thursday afternoon in Franklin County Court to seven concurrent life sentences in prison with no chance of parole in a sexual assault case involving three minors.

Franklin County State’s Attorney Abby Dinn says family members of the victims were present in court when 61-year-old Charles W. Parvin’s sentence was announced.

Parvin was charged back in April with seven counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child perpetrated against three separate 8 year old girls. His case went to trial in September. A jury found Parvin guilty on all counts.

A judge sentenced Parvin to natural life in prison with no chance of parole on each of the seven counts. The sentences will be served concurrent to one another.

The case was investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and the Franklin-Williamson County Child Advocacy Center and prosecuted by State’s Attorney Abby Dinn.
