PADUCAH – The National Weather Service in Paducah says it is becoming more concerned about a potential cold wave to open December roughly Nov. 29 through Dec. 5.
Forecasters say temperatures could be 10 to 15 degree below normal, which would mean high temperatures potentially as cold as the 30s and low temperatures in the 10s. There is also the possibility of wind chill values in the single digits or lower during the nighttime hours.
Even though the forecast covers a seven day period, there will most likely be a one to three day period where the coldest temperatures occur during the period of Nov. 29 to Dec. 5.
Organizations that assist unhoused and similar vulnerable populations should prepare for multiple days of potentially dangerous cold.
