CARBONDALE – There will be a ceremony next week recognizing 91 retired SIU Carbondale employees for their service to the university. It will start at 10 a.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms.
The holiday reception for faculty and staff, hosted by Chancellor Austin Lane, precedes the ceremony and will run from 8:30 until 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Student Center’s International Lounge.
The recognition is for university employees who retired between Aug. 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024.
The retirees had 2,063 years of combined experience with the university. Of these retirees, 39 had 20 to 29 years of service; 19 employees had 30 to 34 years of service, and one employee had between 35 and 39 years of service. One employee had 45 years of service.
