Man Arrested after Meth, Drug Paraphernalia Found at Metropolis Traffic Stop

METROPOLIS – A man is facing charges after being pulled over recently for speeding on 12th Street in Metropolis where Metropolis Police found meth and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

Police say 41-year-old Dustin L. Babb of Metropolis was going 44 mph in a 30 mph zone when he was stopped last Wednesday.

Babb pulled into the Phillips 66 gas station on 5th where a police K9 did a free air search around the vehicle. The K9 made a positive alert. Meth and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Babb was arrested and charged with Speeding, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending a pretrial bond hearing.
