HARRISBURG – Sherman Richard “Woodsey” Woods, 68 passed away Friday, December 6, 2024, at Harrisburg Medical Center, Harrisburg, IL.
Richard was born April 9, 1956, in McLeansboro, IL. He was the son of James Woods and Betty (Beeden) Woods. Richard was a factory worker for Vibracoustic Company in Carmi, IL, for 48 years. He also farmed with his dad and was a lifelong resident of the Broughton area. Among his other activities were fishing, bike riding and caring for his farm animals.
Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Barrall, Harrisburg, IL; nephew, Andy Amberger and wife, Mallori, West Frankfort, IL; great niece, Addison Amberger, West Frankfort, IL; and a great nephew, Clark Amberger, West Frankfort, IL.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Ricky Barrall.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at New Prospect Church, southeast of McLeansboro, with David Pinkerton officiating.
The Harre Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
