Sheriff Jeff Diederich says the program is for non-violent offenders who have committed low level offenses. The offenders will work as volunteers.

Their job will be to improve the landscape of Williamson County by collecting trash along roadways and other civic projects which are designed to beatify public spaces.

A “Sheriff’s Inmate Detail” sign will be posted telling you participating inmates outfitted in bright orange are in the area. Jail administration will organize and manage the program. An uniformed deputy will be assigned to all work details to manage traffic safety and to keep inmates from making contact with the public.

Inmates who participate in work details benefit by receiving credit for community service obligations and the opportunity to give back to the community.

If you have a public space that could benefit from an inmate work detail, please email inmatedetail@wcsheriff.com for more information.
