COLP – A woman was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine, Disobeying a Stop Sign and Littering following a traffic stop in Colp Friday night.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies saw Devin L. Switzer disobey a stop sign and throw out a cigarette from her vehicle in the area of Dr. Springs Road and Mayor Caliper Road around 8:40 p.m. Deputies knew Switzer from prior law enforcement contact.
Deputies checked her driver’s license and found she was on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
After being stopped, a sheriff’s K9 conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. A cannabis smoking device and a cell phone covered in a crystalline residue that later field tested positive for meth was found during a search of the vehicle.
When Switzer was told that a female deputy was on her way to do a more thorough search of her person, Switzer told deputies she possessed meth hidden in her bra. The female deputy arrived and collected the meth from Switzer’s person.
Switzer was then cited for her offenses and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
