Franklin County Deputies Make Meth Arrests in West City and Benton

BENTON – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies made some meth arrests over the Christmas holiday.

According to Sheriff Kyle Bacon, around 10:50 Christmas Eve night, a deputy stop a vehicle on Illinois 14 west of West City.

Two people were inside. They were 25-year-old Anthony A. Boykin of Benton and 55-year-old Kevin W. Kondoudis of Buckner.

A sheriff’s K9 conducted a free air sniff outside of the vehicle that rendered a positive alert.

Deputies searched both men and the vehicle. Boykin was found with firearm ammunition. Kondoudis was found with a glass smoking pipe, a hypodermic syringe, and a clear bag containing a crystalline substance that field tested positive for the presence of meth.

Both were placed under arrest and taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Boykin was charged with Possession of Firearm Ammunition without Requisite FOID. Kondoudis was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Then just after midnight Christmas Day, deputies stopped a vehicle on North Main Street near East Park Street in Benton. A sheriff’s K9 conducted a free air sniff outside of the vehicle that indicated a positive alert. As a result, the occupants and the vehicle was searched.

During the search, the passenger, 46-year-old Nancy L. Lingle of Benton, was found to be in possession of a crystalline substance that field tested positive for the presence of meth and three glass smoking pipes.

Lingle was placed under arrest and taken to the Franklin County Jail. She was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
