CARBONDALE – A Cape Girardeau man is facing gun charges following a disturbance early Saturday morning in the 700 block of East Grand Avenue in Carbondale.
According to Carbondale Police, officers were in that area at 2 a.m. when they investigated a vehicle whose driver was excessively revving its engine causing a disturbance.
Officers saw a firearm inside the vehicle in plain view, and during the course of the investigation, officers located two additional firearms inside the vehicle along with several rounds of ammunition for all three weapons.
The driver, 24-year-old Jaywhun M. Presberry, was identified as the owner of the firearms and was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Use of a Weapon – No Firearm Owners Identification Card. Presberry was lodged in the Jackson County Jail and may have additional charges pending.
