VIENNA – Two people were taken to an area hospital for injuries following a single vehicle crash on eastbound I-24 at U.S. 45 in Vienna around 5:30 Tuesday night
According to Illinois State Police, a Kia Sportage was driving east in the left lane on I-24 approaching the U.S. 45 overpass when for unknown reasons, the SUV left the roadway to the left, traveled through the median and down the embankment between I-24 and onto U.S. 45. The SUV came to rest in the northbound lane of U.S. 45. The northbound lanes of U.S. 45 were closed and reopened around 6:50 p.m.
The driver and passenger were transported to an area hospital with injuries.
ISP says there is currently no additional information to share at this time.
