MT. VERNON – The warming shelter at the Rolland Lewis Community Building in Mt. Vernon is officially closed.
Over the last 36 hours, there has been no additional need beyond those that were already utilizing the shelter. Everyone using the shelter has been provided with new accommodations.
The city would like to thank Jefferson County EMA, Mt. Vernon EMA, United Way and all the volunteers for their assistance during this time.
