GOREVILLE – A possible animal cruelty/neglect case is under investigation in Johnson County.
Goreville Police say they were made aware of the incident Tuesday.
Then on Wednesday, officers made contact with the reporting party and gathered information pertaining to the allegations of animal cruelty/neglect.
Johnson County Animal Control in conjunction with other government agencies is investigating.
Previous allegations were deemed unfounded by multiple government and animal rights agencies.
The Village of Goreville is following state statutes pertaining to any criminal accusations or potential violations of the Human Care for Animals Act.
