MCLEANSBORO – Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) has implemented temporary visitor restrictions effective immediately.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has recommended the restrictions due to the statewide increase in respiratory illnesses including COVID-19, influenza, and RSV.
To protect the health and safety of patients, staff, and the community, the following restrictions have been implemented:
- No visitors under 18 years of age
- Visitors showing any signs of illness are asked to refrain from visiting
- Emergency Department will have a limit of one (1) visitor per patient
- Med Surg and Transitional Care will have a limit of two (2) visitors per patient
Any patient arriving to the Emergency Department or Family Clinics presenting with respiratory symptoms will be required to wear a mask upon entry. Masks are encouraged for visitors, but not required at this time. Disposable masks are available at all entrances for incoming patients and visitors.
HMHD encourages the community to stay up to date on vaccinations, wash hands frequently, and stay home if you are feeling under the weather. For additional information about respiratory illnesses, including symptoms and prevention, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at cdc.gov.
