BENTON – Mrs. Shirley Faye Harden, age 86, of Benton, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:02 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Shirley was born on August 13, 1938, in Peoria, IL; the daughter of Frank Arnold and Inez (Dean) Arnold. She married Robert “Bob” Harden on February 1, 1964, and together they shared 60 years and 11 months of marriage.
She formerly worked for the Borg-Warner Corporation of Chicago, IL.
Shirley was a member of the Logan Church of God. She was a former director of the Joy Bells, a ministry of the church for young girls. Until her health failed her, she enjoyed worshipping with her church family.
Mrs. Harden enjoyed sewing, reading her Bible, and shopping. Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of her grandkids.
Surviving is her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Harden of Benton, IL; a daughter, Sherry Adams of Benton, IL; a son, Rick Fuller and wife, Paula, of Benton, IL; four grandchildren, Nicci Miller of Benton, IL, Brian Adams of Benton, IL, Zachary Adams of Benton, IL, and Leah Sullivan and husband, Travis, of Akin, IL; five great-grandchildren, Archer Adams, Paisley Adams, Brantlee Miller, Gunter Sullivan, Gage Sullivan; an additional great-grandchild, Libby Faye, on the way; a sister, Dorothy Anthony of Chicago, IL; a brother, Frank Arnold of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Margaret Payne.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Leffler Funeral Home of Benton, IL, with Pastor Kurt Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Leffler Funeral Home of Benton.
