WEST FRANKFORT – Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary alarm call around 5:10 Wednesday morning at Dr. Liquors on Illinois 37 just south of the Franklin/Williamson County line.
Deputies saw that someone forced entry to the business by using a brick through the front glass door.
Video surveillance from the business showed the suspect entered the business and proceeded directly toward the gaming machines with a crowbar. Investigators believe the gaming machines were the target of this burglary.
The suspect appeared confused when he discovered the machine’s cash access panels were of a different construction than anticipated which slowed his efforts. The suspect fled moments before deputies arrived.
