INA – Illinois State Police have released more information regarding a fatal four-vehicle crash on southbound I-57 in Ina just after 10 Thursday morning.
A semi with trailer struck the rear of a SUV which was pushed into the rear of another semi with trailer who was then pushed into the rear of another semi with trailer.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Their passenger was flown to an area hospital and later died from their injuries.
The driver of the semi who rear-ended the SUV was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
