Cleanup Continues from Recent Snow, Ice Storms in Marion

MARION – The City of Marion continues cleaning up from the recent snow and ice storms that left a trail of organic debris across the city.

Eight teams are moving across the city, from west to east, collecting limbs and debris stacked curbside. Roadways are being cleared first, then alleyways.

Due to the extent of the damage, cleanup is expected to take a couple of months. The city asks for your patience as crews are working as quickly as possible.

You should place your debris at the curb as weather permits. If it wasn’t collected on the first pass, it will be on the second pass which may take several weeks. There is no need to make a phone call to have debris picked up.

The gate at the Street Department on South Van Buren Street is open for city residents to drop off organic debris at the burn pile, free of charge.
