VALIER – Francesca M. Hart, 84, of Valier, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
She was born on August 31, 1940, in St Louis, MO, to George and Loretta (Farkas) Shovan Jr. She married Lamon Deon Hart on August 31, 1958, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Chris) Dillman of Lake of Egypt; daughter-in-law, Mary Hart of Chicago; grandchildren, Andrew Hart, Sidney (Abbie) Hart, John Ryan (Tina) Beighley, Tyler (Kristi) Dillman and Cortney Panzo; great-grandchildren Cooper, Vincent, Max Taylor, Sage Paul, Madison, Trey, Emerson, Evann, Aura and Arin; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Shovan of Valier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Lonnie Hart; one brother, George Paul Shovan; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Damon and Charlotte Hart
She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a General Manager of The Hang Up clothing store in Christopher for many years. She was also a member of the Valier First Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Francesca will be on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Brother Dale Burzynski officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Valier immediately following the service.
