Deputies Make Arrests in Franklin County Bar Burglary

BUCKNER – Five people were arrested following an early Tuesday morning burglary at the Backroads Bar in Buckner.

Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says 44-year-old Bryan F. Parks of Buckner is charged with Burglary – a Class 2 felony – and two counts of Theft over $500 – a Class 3 Felony – while 47-year-old Michael A. Parks, 47-year-old Linda N. Fulford, and 21-year-old Mason L. Parks – all also from Buckner, were charged with Theft over $500 – a Class 3 felony. Twenty-five-year-old Cassandra E. Beatty of Valier was arrested on a Washington County Failure to Appear Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine.

The sheriff says when deputies arrived at the bar, they found that someone had forced their way inside and the ATM within the bar was broken over with the cash box removed. Deputies immediately began reviewing video footage and a suspect was developed.

Deputies and detectives soon made contact with several subject at a home in Buckner. Based on known information, a search warrant was obtained. As a result, items related to the burglary were found as well as stolen property from other thefts in Franklin County.

Assisting agencies include the Christopher Police Department and the Illinois State Police-CSI.
