HERRIN – Herrin firefighters responded to a yard fire that spread to the home’s attic Tuesday afternoon.
A general alarm was requested bringing in off-duty personnel and an engine from the Marion Fire Department.
Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and were able to extinguish it quickly. Another crew searched the home and found no one inside. All of the family pets were rescued.
