Sen. Bryant Announces Committee Assignments and Retains Leadership Role

SPRINGFIELD – As lawmakers return to the Capitol for the first week of legislative action following the January 8th inauguration, State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) has announced her committee assignments and the continuation of her leadership role within the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus as Assistant Republican Leader.

“I am honored to retain the role of Assistant Republican Leader,” said Senator Bryant. “My focus remains on improving the lives of those I represent and securing a brighter future for all families in our state.”

Senator Bryant will serve on several key Senate committees for the 104th General Assembly, including:

  • Agriculture
  • Appropriations – Education
  • Appropriations – Public Safety and Infrastructure
  • Behavioral and Mental Health (Minority Spokesperson)
  • Criminal Law
  • Energy and Public Utilities (Minority Spokesperson)
  • Higher Education

“These committee positions provide an opportunity to advocate for policies that address the needs of Southern Illinois and the state as a whole,” continued Senator Bryant. “I’m ready to get to work and find solutions that will make a real difference in the lives of our residents.”

Senator Bryant, who has served in the Illinois Senate since 2021, represents the 58th Senate District, which includes all or parts of Edwards, Franklin, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Marion, Monroe, Perry, Randolph, St. Clair, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, and White counties.
