CHRISTOPHER – A 17-year-old juvenile is facing multiple charges including Attempted Murder following a shooting near East Washington Street and Church Street in Christopher Thursday.
According to Christopher Police, when officers arrived they found a male victim with gunshot wounds to his arm and rib area. He was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
Christopher officers and detectives met with the victim in St. Louis and immediately launched a detailed and thorough investigation. A short time later the suspect was identified.
With assistance from the West Frankfort Police Department, officers located and arrested the juvenile without incident. The juvenile was taken to the Christopher Police Department for further investigation.
Besides the Attempted Murder charge, the juvenile was also charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Conduct, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The juvenile was taken to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and is being held at a juvenile detention center in Missouri.
Shortly after the arrest, Christopher Police executed a search warrant at a home in Christopher.
