COLP – Two men were cited for drug-related offenses following a recent traffic stop in Colp.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, Travis L. Conroy, was cited for possessing meth and drug paraphernalia along with several motor vehicle violations.
His passenger, Rusty L. Wagley Jr., was cited for possessing meth, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia along with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
Both men were lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
Deputies stopped the vehicle both men were in around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 in Colp.
Conroy was told by deputies that his vehicle registration was expired and his driver’s license was suspended. He was then arrested and a search of his person located a clear plastic bag containing meth.
Wagley Jr. was found with an open alcoholic beverage.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which located a brown glass smoking device with white crystalline residue in a glove behind the vehicle’s gear shift lever.
Additionally, deputies located a clear plastic vial containing meth in the passenger glove compartment. They were taken into custody and sent to jail.
Prior to and after taking the men to jail, deputies searched the passenger compartments of their patrol vehicles for contraband. Upon leaving the jail, deputies conducted a search of the passenger compartment of the patrol vehicle and discovered a bag containing a schedule 2 controlled substance and meth.
Around 9:35 p.m., The patrol vehicle’s rear in-car camera showed Wagley removing the plastic bag from within his clothing and discarding it into the seat between him and Conroy.
At 10 p.m. while stationary in the Williamson County Jail sally port, Conroy is seen moving it from the seat to the rear driver floor.
