CHRISTOPHER – Police in Christopher Thursday arrested 50-year-old Jonathan C. Love of Christopher following an fight in progress at City Park.
Love was taken to the Franklin County Jail and charged with Robbery and Aggravated Battery.
When officers arrived at the park, they found the victim with minor facial injuries and assessed them while other officers attempted to find Love.
Police say Love battered the victim, stole personal items and fled from the scene. The victim was able to positively identify Love while on scene.
The victim went to the police department Thursday evening to tell officer that he had returned home and found that it had been broken into. The victim found the front door open.
The victim said he tried contacting the neighboring apartment next to his home and stated he was greeted by Love who tried to attack him again. The victim fled from his home to the police department to inform officers. At this time officers immediately responded and were able to locate Love a few blocks from the original incident and was able to capture him without incident.
Love was found to be in possession of the stolen items that the victim had described from the original incident.
The items that were collected from Love were able to be returned to the rightful owner.
