Deputies saw a stolen vehicle from Herrin backed into the alley between Johnson and Lincoln Streets around 7:30 p.m. Deputies conducted a felony stop as the stolen vehicle attempted to leave.

Morris and Watson were both arrested without incident and placed in the back of separate patrol vehicles.

A probable cause search of the vehicle found a pill bottle with Morris’ name on it. A bag containing meth was also found inside his hoodie pocket.

After being temporarily detained in the back of the patrol vehicle, Watson was removed and deputies searched the passenger compartment. They found a bag containing meth in the back seat.

Prior to and after transporting suspects, including when temporarily seated, Deputies search the passenger compartments of their patrol vehicles for contraband.

Prior to being transported to jail, Watson told deputies she possessed drug paraphernalia (a smoking device) inside her pants.

The drug paraphernalia was recovered from Watson at the jail.
