The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says Shawn L. Rogers was cited for Possession of Firearm without FOID, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Damage to Property, and Reckless Conduct.

Just before 10 Sunday morning, Johnston City Police responded to a 911 report of “shots fired” in the 700 block of West 5th Street.

The victims were at home when Rogers fired several rounds into their home. The victims saw them coming from Rogers’ home. Siding and debris was seen splintering from the outside wall as rounds traveled in their direction. Officers saw nearly two dozen exit holes from Rogers’ home and determined that a number of them struck the victims home.

Deputies arrived on scene to help set up a perimeter that spanned several blocks.

Rogers barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out while deputies summoned him on their public address system for over an hour.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) was activated and responded to the scene. Then just before noon, Rogers walked out of the home and surrendered.

About a hour later, Special Response Team members executed a search warrant on Rogers’ home without further incident and processed the scene. They found he had fired dozens of rounds inside his bedroom going through the bedroom wall, through an adjoining sunroom, and departed through the outside wall and glass window before striking the neighbors residence.

Investigators inspecting the victims home were able to locate and recover one round from their bathroom shower.

Rogers was discovered not to have a valid Firearm Owners Identification Card, having been previously denied its issuance.

Investigators located and processed three firearms from the home including a rifle, handgun, and a “judge” revolver. Additionally, numerous magazines, holster, and rounds of ammunition were entered into evidence.
