MURPHYSBORO – Illinois State Police are investigating an officer involved death in Murphysboro.
They say at 1:30 Tuesday morning, a Murphysboro Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle that had previously fled from other police agencies. The vehicle failed to stop and the officer lost sight of it. The vehicle crashed near South 14th Street and Spruce Street in Murphysboro. The driver was dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
ISP says no additional information is available at this time.
