CARRIER MILLS – Carrier Mills Police Chief Scott Isaacs wants unregistered sex offenders to know that the village will not be a safe haven for them.
Police learned last month that two unregistered convicted sex offenders were living in Carrier Mills. One of them, 49-year-old Jason Schamel of Carrier Mills, was wanted on three active warrants for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender.
The second offender, 37-year-old Jason A. Trusty of Carrier Mills, was arrested for Failing to Register and an enhanced charge for unlawful presence in a school zone. Schamel was lodged in the Saline County Jail while Trusty was turned over to the Johnson County Sheriff for additional charges.
