Work on U.S. 51 ‘Cairo’ Bridge Pausing for Winter Weather in Forecast

PADUCAH – As two approaching winter storms head our way, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will temporarily pause a work zone along the U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge between Wickliffe and Cairo after dark tonight.

With the work zone paused, the temporary traffic signal will be removed and both lanes will be open.

The signal will be reinstalled and a work zone lane restriction will resume on Monday, Feb. 17.

The project is estimated to last until about March 1, weather permitting.
