ANNA – Two people were injured in a four-vehicle crash in a construction zone on northbound I-57 north of Illinois 146 in Union County Monday morning.
Illinois State Police say just after 8:30, a car driven by 50-year-old Brandon Bierstedt of Anna was going north on I-57 in the construction zone approaching a SUV driven by 33-year-old Morgan Sullens of Anna.
Bierstedt struck the back of Sullens’ SUV pushing it into the back of another car driven by 21-year-old Adison Little of Scott City, MO.
Little’s car was then pushed into the rear of a semi with trailer driven by a 49-year-old man from Michigan.
Sullens’ vehicle left the roadway to the left coming to rest in the center median.
Sullens and her passenger, 56-year-old Sonya Williams of Anna, suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital.
Little and the semi driver reported no injuries at the scene.
Bierstedt was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
