DAHLGREN – Sandra L. Rost, 78, of Dahlgren, born September 1, 1946, in Joliet, IL, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Sandra was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro. She loved bowling, sewing and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in McLeansboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Rost, in 2018 whom she married on July 5, 1972; her parents, Ralph and Johanna Coons; and brother, Paul Coons.
She is survived by her son, William A. “Tony” Rost (Tina) of Dahlgren; step-granddaughter Megan Link (Levi) and step-great-grandchildren, Mallory and Maven; sister, Barbara Phelps (Mike) of Raleigh; brother, Dale Coons of Fruitlan Park, FL; nieces and nephews, and friends also survive.
Visitation for Sandra will be Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon, with the funeral following at noon, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis.
The Harre Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
