MARION – Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies broke up a large underage drinking party early Sunday morning in the 5300 block of Wards Mills Road in rural Marion.
Deputies responded to the scene at 12:45 a.m. and found 40 vehicles in the driveway, several of which had pulled off into the grass becoming stuck.
Deputies spoke to the homeowner who was traveling out of state by telephone. The homeowner said he was unaware that a party was happening at his home and requested everyone to leave. 100 teens, ages 13 to 19, were there.
Parents of minors at the party were notified and transportation home was coordinated for those who were unable to respond to the scene.
Teenagers who received parental permission to drive home and claimed to have not consumed alcohol submitted to a preliminary breath test on scene prior to departing in their vehicle.
A semi-conscious 15-year-old female, suffering from the effects of over consumption of alcohol, was transported by EMS to a local hospital.
Multiple vehicles were removed from the front lawn by tow truck.
Deputies remained on scene for four hours to coordinate and ensure parents were notified and the teenagers obtained safe transportation home.
This remains an ongoing investigation and has been referred to the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office for further review.
